After the season three finale of the Netflix show “The Witcher,” Henry Cavill has officially left the role of Geralt of Rivia.
He first announced this in October 2022, saying that Liam Hemsworth would replace him as the main character.
The exact reasons for his departure have not been confirmed, but there have been rumours of disagreements between Cavill and the showrunner, Lauren Schmidt Hissrich.
Back in 2021, before the release of Season 2, Cavill expressed his desire for a portrayal of Geralt that stayed truer to the books that inspired the series.
Some fans also believed that Cavill decided to leave “The Witcher” in order to focus on making more “Superman” movies.
However, plans changed, and the role of Clark Kent in the new movie “Superman: Legacy” will be played by David Corenswet, after Cavill’s cameo appearance in “Black Adam” last year.
