A trader, identified as Wasiu Oduwole, has narrated how an Ogun traditional ruler, Oba Nureni Oduwaye, blinded him after accusing him of dancing with his queen.

According to Oduwole, who is a food vendor, he was hired by the owner of a hotel located in Sagamu axis of the state, to prepare fish pepper soup for a birthday celebration. He claimed that some of the guests complained about the meal and he apologised.
The graduate of Olabisi Onabanjo University added that after his apology, the monarch accused him of dancing with his queen. He was told to go and beg the monarch, which he agreed to and while he was trying to prostrate to beg, the monarch kicked his left eye which immediately came out of its socket.

Oduwole’s mother, Sakirat Oduwole, revealed that immediately after she heard the news she went to the hospital and to the Area Commander at Sagamu with a friend but the Area Commander, Aremu Ojugbele, said that the monarch has power over all and there is nothing he can do.
The victim and his family are demanding justice.
