The Archbishop wants Nigerians to see the election period as a time for “peaceful transition of leadership”.

Okoh said: “On behalf of the national leadership of the Christian Association of Nigeria, it is my honour and immense pleasure to join the call on citizens to resist any attempt to cause disharmony and disaffection ahead of the upcoming general elections.

“We must see the elections as a time of peaceful transition of leadership and not war.

“Consequently, there’s a need for all and sundry to put away religious and ethnic bigotry and allow the will of God to prevail.

PFN Denies Endorsing Obi

Also, there have been reports that the Penetcostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) is endorsing Peter Obi of the Labour Party for President.

However, the fellowship has denied endorsing the reports claiming it has no candidate.

The PFN National Publicity Secretary, Bishop Emmah Isong, at the ongoing 17th biennial conference tagged such claims as fake news.

He said: “I want you to know that nothing like that has happened in the history of the PFN.

“We have not endorsed any political party or any presidential candidate.

“And at no point did the National President, his Eminence Bishop Dr Wale Oke, or fathers of faith of NEC endorse any presidential candidate or political party.

“That has not happened. I believe whatever you have read regarding that issue is junk and fake news”.
