Agbebaku went on to say that the legislature never considered removing the deputy governor.

Agbebaku described the claim as a “rumour from the pit of hell” and revealed that he brought it to Obaseki’s attention.

“When I approached the governor, he asked, ‘What is the impeachment for?’

“What has the deputy governor done to warrant impeachment?

“There’s nothing like that, he explained.

“On my own, I called the deputy governor and told him; ‘These are rumours.

“Please, distance yourself from this type of rumour. The governor does not have such a plan”.

The governor, on his part, stated that the impeachment process was the least of his concerns at the moment.

According to him, the state is dealing with more important matters.
