Are you still trying to recharge or check your airtime balance using your mobile networks dedicated codes for doing such, then you are clearly living in the past.

That singular act shows that you are not yet aware of the new unified Unstructured  Supplementary Service Data (USSD) codes approved for all mobile networks by the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC).

As of today, if you do not have the harmonised short codes (HSC) you will not be able to check your balance, recharge your line or even reach the call centre or help desk of your network service provider.

  • NIN Verification and NIN-SIM Linkage: *996#

These New NCC unified codes has been adopted by all mobile network providers across the country be it MTN, Airtel, Glo, 9mobile or any other network provider.
