Nigeria’s Super Eagles clinched a 2-1 victory over Ghana’s Black Stars in a friendly match played in Morocco.
Cyriel Dessers and Ademola Lookman scored for Nigeria, while Jordan Ayew netted for Ghana in stoppage time.
Dessers broke the deadlock with a penalty in the 37th minute, and Lookman sealed the win with a splendid goal assisted by Alex Iwobi.
Ghana were reduced to ten men following Jerome Opoku’s dismissal in the 56th minute. Goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali made crucial saves for Nigeria as they maintained their lead.
The Eagles, led by Finidi George, adopted a strong direct style of play, contrasting with Ghana’s passing game under new coach Otto Addo.
Nigeria is set to face Mali in another friendly at the same venue on Tuesday, March 26, 2024.
