The former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele, has been granted bail for a second time, with the amount raised.
Indeed, someone will say the cost of everything is rising in Nigeria and the cost of bail is not excluded.
In July, Emefiele was granted bail im the sum of ₦20 million after the FG accused him of illegal gun possession.
On Wednesday, a High Court in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) admitted Emefiele to bail. The bail amount is ₦300 million.
Justice Hamza Muazu also ordered Emefiele to produce two sureties in like sum.
Muazu ordered that the sureties must have certificates of occupancy and titles of properties within the Maitama District.

Emefiele is mandated to deposit all his travel documents with the registrar of the court and must remain within the Abuja Municipal Council.
Also, he is expected to remain in Kuje Correctional Centre pending when he meets the bail conditions.
Earlier, the Federal High Court Sitting in Lagos admitted Emefiele to bail in the sum of ₦20 million.
Now Emefiele is facing a reduced corruption charge from 20 to 6 counts.
In the amended charge sheet, the federal government accused Emefiele of illegally buying 43 vehicles worth ₦1.2 billion between 2018 and 2020.
Also, the former CBN governor is accused of awarding a contract to procure 37 Toyota Hilux Vehicles. The vehicles were valued at ₦854 million.
Originally, the charge was 20 counts of corruption, but the prosecutor reduced it to 6 counts.
Also, the prosecution has reduced the number of defendants to only Godwin Emefiele.
