While people still try to grapple with how to deposit the Naira notes, a group is asking the governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria(CBN), Godwin Emefiele to resign.

The North-South Progressives Alliance (N-SPA), made the demand at a conference held in Abuja.

They are of the opinion that Emefiele is out of ideas and should resign from office before he grounds the economy to a final halt.

Addressing journalists after the meeting, the Co-convener of N-SPA, Ayobami Oyalowo, said that the policy had made life unbearable for Nigerians.

He believes the policy is bringing disrepute to the good intentions of President Buhari’s administration.

N-SPA maintained that Emefiele had failed to tap into the ideas of those who have freely offered them for quick and sustainable solution to the current hardship faced by Nigerians.

On the refusal of the CBN to comply with the Supreme Court ruling, the group lamented that the cashless policy of the CBN had succeeded in creating the most unprecedented economic hardship ever recorded in Nigeria’s history.
