Sadly, that is not how things are supposed to be.

But the largess of holding a political position drags ‘some persons’ who seek it to the extreme side of life.

Violence and destruction are all intricacies of what it takes to grab positions on the path of desperation.

In Ebonyi State, the Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ezza North Local Government Area of the state, Peter Mweke, has paid the ultimate price for being in politics.

On March 18, he had a great moment with his family members in the morning, but no one knew the evening will be his dusk that will never see a new dawn.

Earlier, reports said he was shot, but that is not really the case.

Late Mweke was murdered by thugs.

Indeed, political thugs have increased in Nigeria in the last few elections.

They could kill, maim or disrupt electoral process.
