Global music sensation Bad Bunny has been named the biggest pop star of 2025, securing the number one spot on Billboard’s annual Greatest Pop Stars list ahead of some of the industry’s most dominant names.

Billboard unveiled the ranking on Friday, January 30, 2026, with the Puerto Rican superstar finishing ahead of Kendrick Lamar, Sabrina Carpenter, and Taylor Swift.
The publication attributed Bad Bunny’s top placement to a landmark year defined by musical success, cultural influence, and crossover achievements.
According to Billboard, the success of his album Debí Tirar Más Fotos, his sold-out “No Me Quiero Ir de Aquí” residency, and his acting role in Happy Gilmore 2 all played a major role in securing the coveted position.
The announcement comes at a particularly busy moment for the artist, who is set to make several high-profile appearances around the Grammy Awards and headline the Super Bowl Halftime Show, further cementing his dominance on the global stage.
Meanwhile, Taylor Swift was ranked number two on the list, marking another year in which she narrowly missed the top spot.
A recent fan poll reflected the outcome, with nearly 70 per cent of respondents predicting Bad Bunny would finish ahead of the pop icon.
