Nigerian singer Ceeza Milli has claimed that he played a key role in discovering and supporting the early career of Afrobeats star Ayra Starr.

Speaking during an interview with Yanga FM Lagos, Milli said he first came across Ayra Starr when she was still very young and in school. According to him, the singer was introduced to him through a former girlfriend, who was Ayra Starr’s school senior.
The artiste explained that at the time, he was not focused on signing or managing artists but enjoyed watching young talents grow.
Ceeza Milli added that Ayra Starr stayed with him for a period, insisting that his influence on her early development cannot be denied.
“I discovered Ayra Starr at a very young age. She was still in school then and was my ex-girlfriend’s school daughter.”
“She even stayed at my place at a point,” he said, stressing that he contributed to her journey before she became famous.
Ayra Starr later rose to prominence after releasing her self-titled debut extended play in January 2021 under Mavin Records.
She has previously revealed that Mavin Records boss, Don Jazzy, contacted her in December 2019 after discovering her music on Instagram, where she regularly shared song covers and original content.
