Actress and media personality Teni Aladese has shared her thoughts on self-discovery and marriage.
She stresses the importance of women living independently before settling down.

Speaking on the That’s What She Said podcast, Aladese noted that many women move straight from their family homes into their “husband’s house” without fully understanding who they are or what they want in a partner.
According to her, this lack of self-awareness often leads to shock and frustration once marriage begins.
She explained that women can find themselves surprised by certain behaviours and mannerisms in marriage.
This is an experiences they may have never encountered before.
Aladese added that many women are unaware of their own preferences and the qualities they desire in a partner.
Also, this makes it harder to navigate marital life if they have not first taken time to understand themselves.
According to the actress, living alone provides women with the opportunity to discover their personal likes and dislikes, set clear boundaries and determine “the nonsense you’ll take and the nonsense you won’t take.”
She concluded that this period of independence helps women enter marriage with greater clarity and confidence.
