Anu Adeleke, the teenage girl whose mother has long claimed she is the daughter of Nigerian music star Davido, has publicly requested a DNA test to confirm her paternity.
In an Instagram post shared on January 15, Anu tagged Davido, whose real name is David Adeleke, and respectfully asked him to participate in a DNA test, describing it as a step she feels is necessary to establish her identity as she transitions into her teenage years.
Anu revealed that she has faced years of bullying and ridicule from classmates who mocked her whenever she mentioned Davido as her father.
She said the experience caused significant emotional distress, leading her to seek professional support for her mental health.
“This year I become a teenager,” she wrote. “My mom and grandma have always educated me on being a responsible teen: no drugs, alcohol, bad company, or bad behavior.
Today I drafted a letter from the depth of my heart, without help from my relatives. As I grow older, I want to establish my identity. I was bullied in school since I was six years old and cried home daily.
Other students laughed at me when I said my father was Mr. David Adeleke. I went through a lot of mental anguish and visited a medical professional to protect my mental health. It was a sad, challenging time in my life.”
As of now, Davido has not publicly responded to Anu’s request.
