Nigerian actress Lizzy Anjorin has refuted reports claiming she was arrested over alleged defamation of character.
The rumours, which circulated earlier this week, suggested that Lizzy was taken into custody following a petition by fellow Nollywood stars Toyin Abraham, Iyabo Ojo, and Dayo Amusa.
A popular influencer and Iyabo Ojo’s associate, Esabod, had shared the claim on Instagram, stating: “Lizzy Anjorin has been arrested by ??? has been remanded in Alagbon police station in Lagos.”
“Lizzy bail condition will be reviewed from Monday, January 12, 2026, for defamation of character.”
Responding to the viral post on Sunday evening, Lizzy took to her Instagram page to dismiss the claims, writing: “Believe Esabod and Iyabo Ojo at your own risk.”
The actress’s statement appears to put an end to the circulating rumours, though the post has continued to stir reactions on social media.
