Nigerian celebrity auto dealer Ikechukwu Ogbonna, popularly known as IVD, has been discharged and acquitted of any complicity in the death of his late wife, Bimbo Ogbonna.

The judgment was delivered on Monday, December 15, 2025, bringing an end to a prolonged legal battle that lasted nearly four years following allegations by Bimbo’s family that IVD was responsible for her death.
The development was announced by IVD’s partner and self-styled relationship expert, Blessing CEO, via her Instagram page.
In a celebratory post, she described the verdict as a triumph of justice and expressed confidence in Nigeria’s judicial system.
“Discharged and acquitted 15th December 2025. It ended in praise.”
“Four years of tears and false narratives. Nigeria’s justice system still works.”
“I’m proud of my country. IVD, you can now have your life back. Congratulations,” she wrote.
Blessing CEO also used the moment to advise individuals in unhealthy relationships to prioritize their safety and leave toxic unions early.
Bimbo Ogbonna died in October 2022 after sustaining severe injuries from a fire incident at the couple’s Lagos residence, an incident that was widely linked to allegations of domestic violence.
In March 2023, IVD was arraigned by the Lagos State Government on a charge of involuntary manslaughter and was subsequently granted bail.
The Lagos State Directorate of Public Prosecutions later ordered his rearrest on August 1, 2025.
He was arrested while travelling to Qatar ahead of his planned wedding to Blessing CEO.
With the court’s ruling, IVD has now been legally cleared of all charges connected to the case.
