SIAML Pension ETF set the tone for March 2026, as investors drove its sharp rise on the Nigerian Exchange (NGX) with renewed confidence.
After a weak February, investors returned and pushed Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs) back into focus across the market.

By mid-month, newsmen Research tracked steady price increases across many listed ETFs, showing improving sentiment.
As a result, trading activity strengthened compared with the previous month.
SIAML Pension Strong Market Rebound
The SIAML Pension ETF 40 led the rally as it climbed by 185% month-to-date to ₦14,270.58.
At the same time, its market capitalisation surged, securing its position as the top-performing ETF of the period.
In addition, the NewGold ETF and Stanbic IBTC ETF 30 delivered strong triple-digit gains as investors continued to buy into the market.
The Greenwich Alpha ETF also gained significantly, reflecting rising demand for ETF exposure.
These gains pointed to a broad recovery, as rising prices followed increased trading and active participation.
Investors actively adjusted positions and responded to improving market conditions.

Mixed ETF Performance
However, the rally did not spread evenly across the ETF market during March, as performance varied widely.
For example, some funds posted moderate gains, while others advanced at a slower pace.
The Vetiva Industrial ETF and Vetiva Griffin 30 ETF posted steady but smaller gains, showing gradual growth rather than sharp increases.
On the other hand, some ETFs recorded losses as investors adjusted portfolios and took profits.
The Vetiva Consumer Goods ETF and Vetiva S&P Nigeria Sovereign Bond ETF both declined during the month.
Profit-taking And Corrections
Moreover, the Meristem Growth ETF and Meristem Value ETF recorded the steepest drops, falling sharply and reflecting ongoing selling pressure.
Overall, March marked a strong recovery compared with February, when most ETFs declined.
Improved sentiment and increased activity drove the rebound, although liquidity also influenced some gains.
Investors now watch to see whether this momentum will continue.
