Omowunmi Cynthia Aloba, the widow of late Afrobeats star Ilerioluwa Promise Aloba (Mohbad), has initiated a strategic legal process to secure his estate and block any unauthorised claims.
Through her legal representatives, Salawu, Akingbolu & Co., Mrs Aloba filed a notice at the Lagos State High Court, Ikeja.
It stated that she has submitted Form 5 and Form 6,documents that prevent Letters of Administration from being granted to anyone other than legitimate beneficiaries.
The letter, dated 19 November 2025 and signed by I. P. Awo (Esq.).
Also, it affirms her status as Mohbad’s lawful wife and the mother of his only surviving child, Master Liam Aloba.
She further highlighted that public notices were placed in two national newspapers to deter fraudulent attempts to access the estate.
Her legal team emphasised that the notice remains valid and binding in court records.
This is to ensures that no irregular applications can override the rights of the deceased’s recognised next of kin.

Confident in the legal protections now in place, Mrs Aloba expressed assurance that due process will uphold the interests of herself and her son until the estate is fully administered.
