Ace Nigerian rapper Jude Abaga, popularly known as M.I, has offered insight into why some celebrities end up financially unstable.
In a recent interview with Chude, the award-winning rapper explained that he had to mentally condition himself to withstand “broke shaming”.

This is a trend he says pushes many stars into unnecessary expenses.
M.I noted that a number of Nigerian celebrities become broke because they continually adjust their lifestyles to meet public expectations.
He said that once he realised Nigerians often mock celebrities who appear to be living below the “expected” status, he trained himself to not let such opinions control him.
According to him, failure to mentally detach from fans’ perceptions drives celebrities to overspend—on cars, lifestyle, and appearances—just to appear successful.
