The Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) has moved to calm tensions following online criticism about the Super Eagles’ accommodation in Morocco, where the team is preparing for Thursday’s November 13 2025, World Cup playoff clash against Gabon.

Reports and social media posts had sparked concern over the condition of the team’s hotel after midfielder Alex Iwobi shared clips showing rough-looking surroundings near the lodging.
Addressing the issue, football journalist Adepoju Tobi Samuel quoted the Super Eagles’ media officer as saying:
“The Super Eagles are camped at Rive Hotel. What trended earlier was the view of an old building that can be seen from a window.”
“Rive was chosen because of its proximity to the team’s training facility and the stadium here in Rabat.”
The NFF’s clarification aims to dispel speculation that the players were being poorly accommodated during their crucial preparation phase.
Nigeria reached the playoff round after finishing second behind South Africa in Group C.
The Super Eagles will now face Gabon in the semifinal, with the winner advancing to meet either DR Congo or Cameroon in the final.
The ultimate victor will book a place in the intercontinental playoffs slated for March 2026, which will determine qualification for the FIFA World Cup in the USA, Canada, and Mexico.
