Popular Nigerian musician Shallipopi has advised men to avoid relationships, describing them as a “financial trap.”
The singer, in a series of posts on X on Monday, September 22, 2025, argued that marriage is also a “financial mistake,” particularly for men from modest backgrounds.
Shallipopi urged young men to live within their means, stressing that love and commitment often come with heavy financial burdens.
He wrote: “The biggest financial mistake, when you and your papa nor dey the Top 10 list of richest people in Africa, you go cry bro. OS na financial mistake, Girlfriend na financial mistake, stay celibate.”
