Rapper Cardi B has been cleared of all charges in a civil trial where a former security guard accused her of assault.

The case was about a 2018 incident outside a doctor’s office in Beverly Hills.
The guard, Emani Ellis, said Cardi B attacked her while she was pregnant claiming the rapper scratched her, spat on her, and insulted her. Ellis asked for $24 million in damages.
But the jury did not believe her story. After less than an hour of discussion, they decided Cardi B was not guilty of assault, battery, or any other wrongdoing.
Two people who witnessed the incident a doctor and a receptionist testified that there was no physical fight.
They said the argument was loud and angry, but Cardi B never touched Ellis.
During the trial, Cardi B denied all the claims. She admitted there was shouting but said Ellis had provoked her by recording video when she wanted privacy.
At one point, Cardi B even joked in court, calling the argument “a debate,” which made the room laugh.
After the verdict, Cardi B told reporters, “I did not touch that woman.”
She warned against false lawsuits in the future and said she might countersue anyone who tries. She also asked her fans not to harass Ellis online.
For Cardi B, this ruling is a major relief as she prepares to release her new album later this month.
