Veteran Nigerian rapper, 2Shotz, has revealed how the assault allegation made against him by actress Beverly Osu destroyed his career and personal life.
Speaking on The Teju Babyface Show, the rapper explained that the controversy led to the collapse of his marriage, loss of his daughter, financial struggles, and a near-suicidal experience.
“I was accused of so many things that I really am not. Everybody tore me apart,” he said.
“At the time, I was in the U.S., and my then-wife was taking note of everything, which she later used to destroy me.”
Clarifying the timeline, 2Shotz stated that the incident with Beverly Osu happened before his marriage.
According to him, Osu frequently visited his home, appeared in his music video, and they later became close.
He admitted they once had a scuffle during an argument, which he insists was misinterpreted.
“Inside that scuffle, my hand brushed her face, and she called it beating. If I beat you, it will show,” he maintained.
The rapper disclosed that the fallout from the allegation was devastating: “It actually cost me my marriage. It actually cost me my daughter.”
I haven’t seen my daughter once. Everything went down. I wasn’t getting shows.”
“I wasn’t getting deals. I lost my house. I almost killed myself. I walked into water; people pulled me out.”
