Police in the Canadian city of Winnipeg is under pressure to search for the bodies of women murdered in a city landfill.

A serial killer had allegedly killed four women and three of the bodies have yet to be recovered.
The Winnipeg police said they believe the bodies of two of the three women were disposed of in a landfill called Prairie Green.

The police had revealed the decision to not search the landfill and this decision was met by protests from indigenous advocates and families of the women.

The police claim that logistical challenges have made the search for the bodies, difficult.

The protesters have traveled to Ottawa, the country’s capital to call for attention to the issue of the murders that happened.

Cambria Harris whose mother, Morgan Beatrice Harris, has been missing and is suspected to have been dumped at the landfill joined the protesters to call for attention to the issue.

“How many other women are they not looking for?” she said at a protest in Winnipeg.

The protesters are calling for the resignation of the Winnipeg Police chief and are asking the Canadian government to fund the search for the bodies.

The police chief, Danny Smyth said he will not resign from his position, stating his commitment to delivering justice for the families of the murdered women.
