There is a popular saying that “silence is golden,” but this is not the case, as “Obidients” are anxious to know what the next move of Peter Obi will be after the announcement of Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the President-elect.

Tinubu was proclaimed winner of the presidential election on March 1, 2023, after he won over eight million votes.

It turned out that political parties are claiming there are flaws and compromise on the part of the electoral body in the election.

Everyone had hopes that the electoral process would be free, fair, and seamless with the measures put in place by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). But that appears not to be the case.

Just like many other Nigerians, Peter Obi, the presidential flag bearer of the Labour Party, and his wife shared photos of them voting at their polling units on Saturday.

Usually, voting exercises are mostly carried out by the older generation while the youths look away with little or no concern.

However, the February 25 election saw a large number of youth participation like never before.

A Result Drawing Controversies

The elderly, disabled, physically challenged, nursing mothers and pregnant women all came out to speak with their votes. But some are disappointed, as the electoral process came with glitches on the part of the electoral body.

However, there were video recordings from voters across the country stating how they were disenfranchised and how figures from their polling units were manipulated.

According to reports from voters in some areas, there were violent attacks on voters, and people were disenfranchised in large numbers.

During the announcement of the collation of results from different states by INEC in Abuja, Senator Dino Melaye from the PDP and other individuals challenged INEC for not being transparent in discharging its duties.

They claimed that some of the figures announced were different from what was uploaded on the site.

However, Peter Obi has remained silent about the whole issue, which is quite disturbing to his supporters.

In one video he called for calm while his running mate, Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed, says they will go to court.
