“Apapa group’s visible love for Tinubu and their statement on ‘swearing in’ reflect the ‘Hand of Esau, Voice of Jacob’,” the statement says in part.
The opposition Labour Party (LP) has claimed that the incumbent All Progressives Congress (APC) was having trouble sleeping because of its dread of missing Bola Tinubu’s swearing-in ceremony at Eagle Square.
It further stated that the efforts of a faction of the Labour Party to halt the legal procedure launched against the APC and the newly elected president will fail.
According to a statement by the spokesman for the Labour Party, Pastor Obiorah Ifoh, the LP’s National Secretary, Lamidi Apapa and and factional National Chairman, Abayomi Arabambi, have reportedly found support in the APC.
LP expressed surprise at what it described as the APC’s move to recruit some LP members to disrupt the polity.

It stated that it was odd for the APC Party to employ those outside of her own camp to voice concern over a date sacred to Nigeria’s democracy.

“We had declined to engage in conflict with the suspended Deputy National Chairman, Lamidi Apapa, and the expelled former acting National Publicity Secretary of the Labour Party, Abayomi Arabambi, Ifoh went on.
“This was due to their poor explanations of the ‘handover’ to the Independent National Electoral Commission on May 29.
“The Labour Party actually doesn’t want to speak on the subject because the presidential appeal tribunal’s hearing on the case has already started.
“However, the text of the statement which was read as commercial on about three television stations in prime time hours suggests that the real sponsors of the crisis in the Labour Party would stop at nothing in ensuring that they sustain the imbroglio.
“The huge financial war chest being deployed to achieve this inglorious plot to halt a popular aspiration of millions of Nigerians for a new and prosperous nation leaves a huge gap in the dexterity and desperation of these evil plotters.
“Peter Obi has never explicitly stated or implied that May 29 should be moved in any of his public or private utterances.
Missing The Inauguration
“He is a Democrat who firmly thinks that the court system should serve as the final arbiter, which is why he has turned to the legal system to seek redress.
“Having said that, the mouthpiece that the All Progressives Congress, APC, chose to use to voice their concerns disturbs us.

“They have continued to experience migraines and restless nights due to the possibility of missing the event in Eagles Square on May 29.
“This has forced them to use Apapa and Arabambi as their compere to sing a song danced just by themselves, two already compromised and fallen members of the Labour Party.
“The phrase ‘the Hand of Esau, Voice of Jacob’ sums up what we are witnessing today.
“Telling Nigerians what they already know through multiple media channels does not require spending millions of Naira, he said.
“Nigerians are already aware of your sponsorship to oppose Peter Obi’s bid for the presidency.
“There is no denying the Apapa camp’s noble desire to continue acting as a divisive force within the Labour Party.
Nefarious Scheme
“Few weeks ago, we warned Nigerians about machinations by this faction to have several of our nominees for tribunal positions have their cases withdrawn due to claims they have not yet proven.
“We have also made Nigerians aware of the fact that these men, who have no known source of money, are suddenly traveling on private aircraft and residing in five-star hotels.
“Lamidi Alaba will be forced to pose as a representative of the Labour Party on the next adjourned date as part of their schemes to undermine the ongoing presidential trial, as shamelessly claimed by Arabambi.
“This will be the pinnacle of the APC’s nefarious scheme, carried out by Apapa and his crew to thwart the fair legal process that Nigerians are witnessing.
They intend to introduce a turbulent situation and most likely stop the process.
“No amount of violence conceived and carried out by the APC utilizing the faction they created in the Labour Party would be able to thwart what destiny has planned for the country. Nigerians can no longer be taken for granted.
“The LP urged Nigerians to “put a stop to these paid hirelings who will stop at nothing to frustrate God’s will for Nigerians,” Ifoh said.
