Nigerians appealed to the government that the assaults and abuse from armed police officers which have lingered in Nigeria over the years should end.

One of the things that happened afterwards is that the government ended the SARS project.

But here we are again.

Now, a disturbing video is trending online where a policeman was seen harassing an unidentified man on a highway in Port Harcourt, Nigeria.

‘Did I Steal’

One of the two policemen was seen holding a rifle in one hand and with the other hand raising a wooden cane in an attempt to flog the man, who was dressed in a white native attire.

“Don’t flog me. Did I steal? Did I steal?” He asked in pidgin language.

These questions asked by the man whose identity remains unknown were followed by two thunderous slaps from the policeman who was asking him to get into a car suspected to be the man’s.

There was a woman with the man, who was forced into the car by another policeman.

While that happened, someone was making a video of the whole scenario.

It is unclear why the man and woman were intercepted by the police.

However, there is an uproar online as to why police brutality in Nigeria is still on the rise even after the End SARS protest in 2020.
