A new film featuring Nigeria’s top female music artist, Tiwa Savage, will premiere on Amazon Prime Video later this year in 240 countries.
The movie entitled ‘Water and Garri,’ is produced by Everything Savage and Unbound Studios and marks the debut of the award-winning star, known for her soulful voice and popular songs.
Directed by Meji Alabi, ‘Water and Garri’ is part of Prime Video Nigeria’s growing collection of Nollywood content, including titles like Gangs of Lagos, LOL: Last One Laughing Naija, and SHE Must Be Obeyed, making for an exciting start to 2024.
Water And Garri Synopsis
The story revolves around Aisha (Savage), a determined fashion designer who returns to her home country from the United States after being away for 10 years due to the loss of a family member.
Facing changes in her homeland, including increased violence and mounting tensions, Aisha must come to terms with her scars, address the guilt she left behind, and reconnect with family, old friends and a past love.
How does she cope with all of this and still keep a great mental health? The movie connects it all.
Shot in nearby Ghana, the film combines captivating cinematography with a compelling narrative, featuring talented actors such as Mike Afolarin (Far From Home), Andrew Bunting (Dynamite), and Jemima Osunde (New Money).
