President Bola Tinubu had sent him to submit the second batch of ministerial nominations to the Senate for review.

His letter was handed to Godswill Akpabio, the Senate President, on Wednesday by Femi Gbajabiamila, the president’s Chief of Staff.

Akpabio communicated to the Senate that he had received the nominees list and would read it before plenary was over.

On July 27, Tinubu sent the senate a list of 28 nominees for consideration and approval.

This list contained 21 males and seven females.

Some of the names on the list include, Nyesom Wike, former Governor of Rivers State; David Umahi, senate deputy majority leader; Nasir el-Rufai, former Kaduna State Governor, among others.

As of press time, the Senate was screening Nkiruka Uzoka, the 28th and final nominee to be screened by the red chamber. The exercise began on Monday.

Meanwhile, people have accused the Senate of not being thorough with the screening.

They say the senators tell most of the nominees to take a bow without much questioning.

However, a Senator said the Senate was doing due diligence.
