Award-winning Nigerian singer and songwriter, Temilade Openiyi, aka Tems, attended the 2023 Oscars in a stunning white dress with an extension of the outfit hovering over her head and on both sides.
While some reacted to the fact that she was inconsiderate to have put on that dress as it obstructed the view of those behind her.
Others are of the opinion that she was only being creative and that her outfit stood her out the Oscars as a Nigerian.
Tems, who became the first Nigerian artist to be nominated for an Oscar, failed to bag an award at the 95th Oscars, which took place on Sunday, March 12, at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles.
The celebrity was nominated alongside Rihanna in the category of “Best Original Song” for co-writing “Lift Me Up,” a soundtrack used on the Hollywood hit movie Black Panther.
The duo lost the category to Naatu Naatu from the Bollywood movie RRR.
With this, it became the first Indian film song to win an Oscar.

The award ceremony took place at the Dolby Theatre at Ovation Hollywood in Los Angeles, US.
