One of the key sectors that should not be displeased to the point of embarking on a strike is the health sector.

However, health workers in Germany are not happy and they have embarked on a one-day strike.

Doctors in six of Germany’s 16 states embarked on a strike on Thursday.

This strike is the latest of a wave of employment disputes to disrupt the country this year.

Employee Displeasure

According to the Marburger Bund Association of German doctors, several thousand participants were expected at the rally held at the Bavarian capital Munich.

They are demanding a 2.5% increase for 55,000 doctors working in municipal hospitals.

“Our members do not feel taken seriously by the employers so far.

“We have the impression that the employers want to delay the collective bargaining,” said its president, Andreas Botzlar.

Doctors also staged walkouts in Baden-Württemberg, Hesse, North Rhine Westphalia, Rhineland-Palatinate, and Saarland.

According to the union, emergency treatment of patients is guaranteed in affected clinics.
