Meanwhile, she is a journalist and former Senate President of the Congress of NOUN Students (CONS) at the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN).
INEC’s returning officer, Professor Hakeem Ijaya, announced that Rukayat, who is a member of the All Progressvies Congress, scored 7,521 votes to beat her PDP opponent, who polled 6,957 votes in the State House of Assembly election.

the young lady will represent the Owode/Onire constituency in Asa Local Government Area in the Kwara State House of Assembly.
Meanwhile, Rukayat is being celebrated on social media. People are encouraging her to use her position as a platform to represent the interests of Nigerian youths.
