Martin Odegaard, the captain of Arsenal, has responded to rumours that he would join Paris Saint-Germain this summer.
Since joining the Gunners, initially on loan from Real Madrid, the midfielder from Norway has rehabilitated his reputation and assumed the armband at Emirates Stadium in 2022–2023.
The talented 24-year-old is reportedly catching the attention of Ligue 1 champions PSG after scoring 15 goals for Arsenal last season, as they constructed a title threat.
Odegaard has told TV2 of the rumours suggesting that he could be lured away from north London:
“I have a few years left on the contract, I’m fine and I hope to be at the club for a long time to come.”
Also, there has been talk of Arsenal moving to protect their prized asset by tying him to fresh terms. Odegaard, adding to the contract extension reports, said: “I have not spoken to them, that is not my task. To be honest, I don’t know how the situation is right now.
