The defence ministry announced the formation of the “front-line creative brigade” adding that would include both vocalists and musicians.

The United Kingdom reacted to the new creative brigade saying it is in line with the historic use of “military music and organised entertainment” to boost morale.

According to a Russian outlet, RBC news, the new brigade will consist of troops mobilised under President Vladimir Putin’s recruitment drive.

The brigade would also include “professional artists who voluntarily entered military service”.

The new unit will be saddled with the responsibility of maintaining “a high moral, political and psychological state (among) the participants of the special military operation,” the defence ministry said.

However, the UK questioned whether the new brigade may be a distraction to the troops who have been concerned with “very high casualty rates, poor leadership, pay problems, lack of equipment and ammunition, and lack of clarity about the war’s objectives”.
