The U.K Prime Minister, Rishi Sunak has reportedly fired interior minister Suella Braverman.

This new development came days after she accused the London police of bias while dealing with pro-Palestinian protesters.

Braverman also suggested last week that some homeless people living on the streets were making “a lifestyle choice”.

The remarks had spurred growing calls for the UK Home Secretary’s dismissal.

“It has been the greatest privilege of my life to serve as home secretary. I will have more to say in due course,” the Conservative leader said after her dismissal.

According to a report from BBC, Sunak will also undertake a cabinet reshuffle later on Monday.

While there has been no official confirmation there are indications that foreign secretary James Cleverly may replace Braverman.

Some including the political editor of the Sun tabloid have also asserted that Cleverly is taking over her role.

Meanwhile former PM David Cameron was spotted walking into Number 10 Downing Street – sparking buzz that he will make a return to politics as foreign secretary.

Braverman had defied the Sunak-led government last week by publishing an article in The Times that called the demonstrations “hate marches”.

She also accused the police of ‘playing favourites’ and adopting “double standards” in its treatment of protests – an argument opposition Labour said inflamed tensions at a pro-Palestinian demonstration on Saturday.

Right-wing and nationalist protesters who engage in aggression are rightly met with a stern response yet pro-Palestinian mobs displaying almost identical behaviours are largely ignored, even when clearly breaking the law?

Sunak is expected to carry out a wider number of changes in his cabinet, bringing in allies and removing some ministers who his Downing Street office say have not been performing as well as he wanted in their departments.
