The Governor of Osun State, Ademola Adeleke on Monday appointed Samuel Ayanleye Aina as the state’s new Head of Service.

The appointment was made public via a statement released by Olawale Rasheed, spokesperson to the Osun State Governor, in Osogbo, the state capital.

Reports made available reveals that the swearing-in ceremony for the new Head Of Service will be held on Tuesday, December 6, by 10:00 am.

Aina before his appointment by the Adeleke administration obtained BSc in Geography in 1987 from the University of Ibadan and his MSc in 1990.

Following his appointment, Aina would be taking over from Festus Oyebade Olowogboyega, who was the Head of Service under Rauf Aregbesola’s administration and also served in the administration of Gboyega Oyetola.

The statement further stated that Aina was appointed a Permanent Secretary in Osun State in 2012 and was deployed to the Ministry of Finance, Economic Planning and Budget where he served till 2013.

The statement added, “He was later deployed to serve as the Permanent Secretary of the new Ministry of Finance following the creation of the Office of Budget and Economic Development from the former Ministry in 2013. He served in the Ministry of Finance till 2016.

“Until his appointment, Mr Aina, based on his tested capacity and ability, was deployed as Permanent Secretary in charge of two critical Agencies – Ministry of Human Resources and Capacity Building and the Public Service Office in the Office of the Head of Service, Osun State in 2016 and has been coordinating the affairs of the two Agencies since 2016 to date without blemish.

“He has served in several capacities within and outside international and national organisations.”

Aina’s appointment makes it the fourth appointment by Governor Adeleke since his assumption of office on Sunday, November 27, 2022.
