The Academy Awards, also known as the Oscars, were held on March 12, 2023.

One of the attendees for the 2023 Oscars is popular Nigerian singer, Temilade Openiyi, aka Tems.
Tems stormed the event in a stunning white gown that drew the attention of attendees and social media users alike, with photos of her outfit going viral on the internet.
The 27-year-old singer was nominated for her contribution as a songwriter on ‘Lift Me Up,’ one of the songs on Marvel’s ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.”

‘Applause’ from ‘Tell It Like a Woman’ (Diane Warren).
‘Hold My Hand’ from ‘Top Gun Maverick’ (Lady Gaga and BloodPop).
“This Is a Life’ from ‘Everything Everywhere All at Once’ (Ryan Lott, David Byrne, and Mitski).
“Naatu Naatu” from ‘RRR’
Tems lost the Oscar for Best Original Song to ‘Naatu Naatu’ from ‘RRR‘, which is composed by MM Keeravani with lyrics by Chandrabose and vocals by Rahul Sipligunj and Kaala Bhairava.

Naatu Naatu won in the same category at the Golden Globes earlier this year, as well as Best Song at the Critics’ Choice Awards and the Hollywood Critics Association.
