To reduce human contact and curb corruption to the barest minimum when it comes to international passport applications, the Ministry of Interior has launched its online portal.
In the face of many failures and not-so-encouraging information filtering through the media in Nigeria, the Ministry of Interior has kept its word by launching the first-ever online international passport portal in Nigeria.

This much anticipated International Passport Automation system was launched by the Minister of Interior, Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo.
The Minister, Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, explained that the portal would reduce corruption and human contact.
Also, the minister believes that this process will aid the would-be applicants in getting their International Passports without going through stress.
The automation will also help to speed up the process of International passport processing in Nigeria.
Nigerians have been showering praises on Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo since they heard about the launch.
They urged other ministers of the federation to be result-oriented rather than making promises to Nigerians.
Some went as far as urging the President to sack ministers that are not working.
How To Apply For International Passport
1. Access the online portal at https://passport.immigration.gov.ng/ and enter your NIN. The system will auto-fill your data from the National Identity Management Commission.
2. Fill in all necessary data fields as prompted, ensuring accuracy and completeness.

3. Upload your passport photo and other required breeder documents (such as birth certificate, indigeneship certificate, etc) onto the platform.
4. Visit an immigration office for biometric capture. This step ensures the necessary physical verification and identity confirmation.
5. Expect your passport to be ready for collection within two weeks, marking the successful completion of the application process.
