The Lagos State University (LASU) has been thrown into mourning, bearing the brunt of the negative effects of Nigeria’s recent cashless policy implementation.

It is one of those situations that Nigerians have continue to suffer. Some have paid the ultimate price in the process.

Indeed, many deaths have been recorded within the period of the scarcity. Some die when protest breaks out. Some die while queuing for a long time in banking halls.

The Deputy Bursar of LASU, Johnson Adesola Ademola, is one of such persons that fall in the last category.

On Monday, while waiting to get some cash, he slumped and died inside a banking hall.

His intention was to withdraw 5,000 Naira in a bank within the campus

According to eye-witnesses, the deceased had been on the queue as early as 6:00AM and suddenly slumped. 

He was rushed to the school’s hospital where he was confirmed dead

At the filing of this report, his remains have been deposited at the state morgue.
