Sam Larry who is presently with the Nigerian police and being quizzed over the death of Mohbad gave a statement release.

The death of the Afrobeat musician, Promise Ilerioluwa, popularly known as Mohbad, is one that took sleep from the eyes of many.

Due to the nature of his death, Nigerians are not resting on their oars in their request for justice.

From video evidence flying over the internet, accusing fingers are pointing at Naira Marley and Sam Larry, amongst others.

Music promoter and aid to Naira Marley, Balogun Olamilekan Eletu, popularly known as Sam Larry, was arrested by the Nigerian police.

His was arrested the moment he came into Nigeria from Kenya.

This is coming after a video circulated on social media following the death of Mohbad. That video contained a scene where Sam Larry was seen assaulting him during a video shoot with Zlatan Ibile.

However, Sam Larry, who is being questioned by the Nigerian police, made it known in his statement that, he harassed Mohbad because of a breach of contract.        

Sam Larry Pleads Innocent

Larry said he paid a sum of two million Naira to Mohbad for a performance at his mother’s annual remembrance concert.

“He never turned up, and when I asked him the reason, he said he wasn’t feeling well.

“I asked for a refund, and he said he was broke as he lost his phone and money when the NDLEA raided his place.

“Later, I heard he was having a video shoot next to my house, and I went there to ask for my money. We had an argument that lasted five minutes.

“Up until today, one kobo hasn’t been refunded to me, but I’ve moved on.

“I travelled to Kenya to find a new African act that can perform at my mother’s concert this year.

“I surrendered myself to the police willingly and happily; I don’t know anything about the death of Mohbad. Case closed.”
