Fresh details of how the Lagos State Command of the Nigeria Police Force arrested controversial show promoter, Balogun Eletu, better known as Sam Larry have emerged.

Sam Larry was arrested over an ongoing investigation into the circumstances leading to the death of 27-year-old singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad.

The Arrest

The spokesperson of Lagos State Police Command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the arrest.

That confirmation was in a statement released on Thursday night.

However, Hundeyin failed to reveal details of how the arrest was made.

But a Police source quoted by Punch has shed more light on circumstances and events that led to the arrest of the controversial socialite.

According to the source, Larry was arrested at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport.

His arrest was made on Thursday evening when he arrived from Kenya.

He was immediately taken to the State Police headquarters for questioning.

“Sam Larry was arrested at the airport after he arrived from Kenya. Our officers arrested him.

He was immediately taken to the state police headquarters for questioning,” the source said.

You see, following the controversial and sudden death of Mohbad on Tuesday, September 12, there have been several calls for the Police to carry out a diligent investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death.

In line with the call, the Police had exhumed his body for autopsy.

Also, the nurse who injected him before he died was arrested.

The Police promised to provide more details as the investigation continues.
