As such, he was awarded his eighth Ballon d’Or and has been recognized across the world for it.

Although it didn’t go to plan, the Agentine’s club Inter Miami held a ‘Noche d’Or’ friendly against MLS side New York City FC to recognize the achievement, while also posting on social media about the win.

Now, he was able to finally be greeted by his fellow countrymen as La Albiceleste look to continue their hot form in Conmebol World Cup qualifying.
