Jurgen Klopp

Klopp has praised Marcus Rashford for his remarkable return to form even if he admits as Liverpool manager it is impossible for him to acknowledge Manchester United’s resurgence as a positive.

The England international is in the form of his life with 25 goals for the club this season after enduring a frustrating couple of years at Old Trafford.

Klopp has previously spoken in support of Rashford for his off-field activities around school meals and reading initiatives but had to commend him on his rejuvenation as a player ahead of the visit of their arch-rivals on Sunday.

“It’s pretty much impossible to be happy about something at Man Utd as Liverpool manager.”

“But I’m really happy for Rashford because he had a very difficult last year where he was not performing on the level he is able to perform. I knew this would change again but sometimes in life there is not enough time to change it.”

“But now he is playing incredibly.

“His speed, technique, the mix-up of everything, how calm he is in front of goal, he scores the simple ones, he scores worldies, he puts his head in, all those kinds of things.”

“We’ve played before against world-class offensive players and if you try to do that in a one vs one situation then you will always be on the wrong end of it – we have to do that collectively.”
