On Tuesday, the Iranian government killed three men convicted of raping women they had lured to a bogus cosmetic surgery facility and injected with anaesthetic pills.
They were found guilty of collaborating in 12 cases of sexual assault in the southern province of Hormozgan in late 2021, according to the judiciary’s Mizan Online website.
The three men “who raped a number of women in an unlicensed beauty salon were hanged in Bandar Abbas prison this morning,” according to Hormozgan Chief Justice Mojtaba Ghahramani.
One of the men, a medical assistant, enticed seven victims to the bogus clinic by posting “false advertisements” for cosmetic operations on the internet.

He then injected them with an anaesthetic drug and raped them.
According to the story, the other two prisoners, both nurses, were hanged over five counts of rape as well as drug theft accusations.
According to Amnesty International, Iran executes more people than any other country save China and hanged at least 582 people last year, the most since 2015.
