According to claims on Twitter, Justice Boloukuoromo M. Ugo had resigned from the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal (PEPT), and claimed he was under pressure to manipulate justice,

The claims first showed up on an online media platform, The Igbo Times Magazine, and was circulated by several other media platforms.

According to the report, Justice Ugo issued a statement saying there were attempts by certain people to strongarm him into supporting a popular presidential candidate ahead of an election.

This claim was the first red flag as Nigeria had already concluded its presidential election on February 25, 2023, and sworn in Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives’ Congress (APC) on May 29.

What is before the Tribunal are petitions from contestants and parties that lost out in the election.
