A Dunamis Church Pastor, on a mission to save lives has ended up losing his life in a tragic building collapse on Tuesday in Benue State.

The Church building situated in Mission Ward North Bank, Makurdi, the capital of Benue State, went down in the early hours of Tuesday.

According to a source, four individuals, including the pastor, were holding prayers within the church building prior to the incident.

The other three individuals managed to escape the wreckage while the pastor was taken by death.

More Damage

The collapse of the church building has also caused damage to nearby residential buildings and electricity infrastructure.

The exact cause of the incident remains unclear at this time.

When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer for the Benue State Police Command, Anene Sewuese Catherine, told journalists that she was not aware of the incident.

However, reports reveal that police operatives from the C Division, North Bank, have already arrived at the scene, and emergency officials were also involved.

Investigations will begin and the people will know the cause in no time.

However, the collapse brings to mind the issues with the housing sector in Nigeria.
