“The 20-year-old striker will join the Blues on 1 January 2023. We look forward to welcoming David to the club,” it added.

Fofana’s acquisition became essential for Chelsea after the club’s striker, Armando Broja was ruled out of the season.

21-year-old Broja suffered a knee injury in the mid-season friendly match against Aston Villa.

Broja underwent a successful operation on his knee last week Wednesday as he prepares to start rehabilitation.
