In a bid to ensure that teams can compete favorably at the highest level in football competitions, European clubs have spent big over the summer window transfer season.

Premier League clubs are leading on the list of clubs with the most expensive squads across Europe with clubs like Man City, Man United, and Chelsea topping the list after spending a whooping sum of £2.5b.

Manchester City spent £917m during the summer winder window transfer in preparation for the 2023 season bringing in Erling Haaland, and Manuel Akanji among others. Manchester United came close but was only able to invest £863m in keeping their old players and recruiting new ones like Casemiro, Antony, and Lisandro Martinez.

Chelsea also spent £759m to add players like Raheem Sterling, Gabriel Slonina, and Kalidou Koulibaly to their squad.

Paris Saint-Germain was not left out of the heavy spending spree, as they invested £730m, on their squad.
