You could say the huge expectations of Nigerians has not been met by the new governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Dr. Olayemi Cardoso. No one is sure of what the economic outlook for 2024 is.Â
Since assuming office, the wait has continued for Nigerians.
They are waiting to see him implement policies that will transform the economy but not much has been witnessed.
Now, Cardoso is set to unveil the CBN Monetary Policy Thrust and Economic Outlook for 2024.
Cardoso will make the CBN plans for next year known during the 58th Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria Annual Bankers’ Dinner.
The apex bank made the announcement via its official X handle on Thursday afternoon.
It reads: “Join us via https://YouTube.com/cenbank at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, November 24, 2023, as the Governor, Central Bank of Nigeria, Mr. Olayemi Cardoso, unveils the Bank’s Monetary Policy Thrust and Economic Outlook for 2024″.

Cardozo will seize the opportunity to explain the monetary policy of the CBN. Also, he will revel the CBN’s plans to halt the fall of the Naira.
This will be the first public engagement by Cardozo since he was appointed CBN Governor.
President Bola Tinubu appointed him on 15 September 2023.
Cardoso has been seriously criticised by many for failing to hold the CBN bi-monthly Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) meeting.
