Is Dubai the second home of the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)? No one but the former governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, knows.

But his knowledge may be coming from the fact that after losing to incumbent President Muhammadu Buhari in the 2019 election, Atiku Abubakar left for Dubai.

You see, Atiku had contested for the candidacy of the PDP with Fayose and Nyesom Wike.

He won them and ever since then, that defeat has not been taken in good faith by the other two parties.

The former vice president had returned from Dubai to contents the primaries of the PDP and he defeat Mr. Fayose, Wike, and other candidates.

But the former Ekiti Governor and Peoples Democratic Party chieftain si not letting the matter rest.

While collation of the presidential election results was ongoing, representatives of Atiku Abubakar raised concerns of irregularities.

However, Mr Fayose does not whether his party is making claims.

He wants the PDP presidential candidate to accept defeat and return to Dubai.

“Our candidate, H.E. Atiku Abubakar (aka ‘Atiku is coming’), should accept defeat in maturity and retire peacefully to Dubai.

“At this juncture, may I say good night and goodbye to all you represent,” Mr Fayose said.

The former governor made this statement in a tweet on Monday, while Saturday’s presidential election results were being announced.

The PDP and Labour Party agents walked out of the result collation venue, International Conferences Centre, on Monday after protesting against INEC’s refusal to upload results on its server.

By results announced so far, the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, is leading Mr Atiku and Peter Obi of the Labour Party.
