Fresh details have emerged surrounding the reported rift between BBNaija Season 8 winner Ilebaye Odiniya and her father, Hon. Godson Odiniya, following claims made in an alleged voice recording attributed to him.
According to Odiniya, the relationship between father and daughter reportedly became strained shortly after Ilebaye’s victory on the reality TV show.
He alleged that fame and new associations changed her attitude, making her less receptive to advice and family guidance.
Speaking in the voice note, he claimed he encouraged the reality star to publicly acknowledge individuals who supported her journey during the competition, but she allegedly declined.
He further suggested that many of their supporters gradually distanced themselves afterward.
Odiniya also opened up about disagreements over finances and lifestyle decisions, alleging that his daughter often rejected his attempts to advise her on managing wealth responsibly.
He claimed their conversations frequently ended in arguments, making communication increasingly difficult.
The father additionally alleged that he had concerns about some of her personal choices, including cosmetic enhancements and what he described as a fast-paced lifestyle at a young age.
According to him, repeated attempts to correct or caution her reportedly created more tension between them.
He further recounted an alleged physical altercation that occurred during a heated disagreement.
Odiniya claimed he tried to have a serious discussion with his daughter over issues he believed were becoming problematic, but the situation escalated, leaving him injured.
Speaking further, he expressed disappointment over what he described as excessive spending habits, saying he had encouraged her to invest in projects or ventures that could create long-term value and benefit others.

The distraught father also alleged that her influence negatively affected her younger brother, claiming it contributed to behavioural and academic challenges despite earlier warnings he said he had given.
Despite the ongoing family tension, Odiniya appealed to Nigerians for prayers and understanding, expressing hope that reconciliation and positive change would eventually come to the family.
